Meet our professors

Dr. Sam Chung is a Professor, the Dean of School of Technology and Computing (STC) at City University of Seattle (CityU) in WA. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida and has two MS degrees in Computer Science from George Washington University and the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. He graduated with a BS from the Department of Electronics/Computer Engineering at Kyungpook National University

Clark is the Program Manager for the AWS Apprenti Program. He holds a Master's degree in Computer Science in CityU. He is also a CompTIA Linux+ Certified. He worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for School of Technology and Computing in CityU and has financial background in both educational experience and work experience. His experience now consists of full-stack development and cloud technologies.
Clark Ngo
Program Manager
Murray is a Canadian living in Seattle, where he spent ten years in the software development business at Microsoft. Initially a member of the Windows Networking team. Murray became a founding member of the Real Time Communications team (now Skype for Business) where he helped develop network protocols for instant messaging and network conferencing.​ As a Technical instructor, Murray specializes in high level programming with Python, C#, C++, SQL Programming and Administration, PowerShell scripting, and private / hybrid cloud technologies.​

Jon has been in working with technology and engineering for 8+ years with positions ranging from consulting, DoD red teaming, to currently working as penetration tester for Nordstrom Corporate in downtown Seattle. Jon has a bachelor's degree in information technology, a master’s degree in cybersecurity with a focus in ethical hacking & penetration testing, and he is currently finishing his doctorate in computer science. Jon also holds various certifications such as CompTIA Pentest + and EC-Councils C|EH to name a couple. Jon specializes in adversarial assessments in the cloud, web applications, and large networks, as well as educating both clients and students on the dangers of cyber threats.

Dr. Jin has been teaching Python, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Software Testing, and Introduction to C++ for 6 quarters at CityU. He has been part of great team of people teaching courses at CityU. Dr. Jin currently works as a software engineer and an acoustics engineer in the healthcare business for last 15 years after completing his Ph.D. Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Jin's dissertation is about multiple biometrics for securing personal identification/authentication.​ At work, Dr. Jin participates in product development in delivering image performance for medical devices. Prior to teaching the course at CityU, he has worked as a software engineer at several companies in FL, TX, and WA. Dr. Jin's professional interest includes cybersecurity, biometrics and medical image analysis. He has published over 25 IEEE Transaction journals, peer-reviewed conference & workshop publication as well as patents.​

Shane has over 15 years of software product development experience and over 10 years of Data Analytics in Global Business Marketing and Finance. Shane obtained a BA in Business Management Information Systems and began his career as a Software Engineer at Microsoft. He worked on various projects including Office, SharePoint, Sync with the majority of his time focused on developing Excel. Shane ran his own consulting company focused on small business process management, financial systems and analysis. He obtained a Master in Education, taught for a few years and then returned to the business world to work in Global Product and Solutions Marketing at SAP Concur. Shane's focus is on Financial Analysis, Modeling, Pricing, and Data Analytics.

2020 Team

Yu Che is currently working as a Teaching Assistant for the School of Technology and Computing while pursuing his Master's degree in Computer Science at City University of Seattle. Back in Taiwan, Yu Che earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Information Management degree. He has three years of experience in the technology industry as a Software Developer. He has helped create and test 10 fully functional Android and web applications, ranging from government apps to world financial apps. ​
Currently working as a Teaching Assistant for the Technology Institute, Ruan has 10+ years of experience acting as an IT project and portfolio management professional. In the recent past years he has been working as an Agile Coach and MBA teacher. He also works as a dedicated PMI volunteer - currently VP of Operations of PMI Puget Sound (Seattle) Chapter and Disciplined Agile Champion of PMI Gobal.​ Ruan is a Professional Agile Coach Certified (PACC), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMP certified and PMI LIMC (Leadership Master Class) alumni. He holds a BS in Computer Science, an MBA in Project Management and is pursuing his Master's degree in Computer Science at City University of Seattle.​
Smita is currently working as a Teaching Assistant for the Technology Institute while pursuing her Master's degree in Computer Science at City University of Seattle. Back in India, after completing her bachelor's degree in Electronics And Electrical, Smita started her career as software developer with Siemens Technology and Services. She then moved to Philips and worked there for 2 years as software technologist. Smita found her passion in Technology, especially in networking and Machine Learning. ​

He earned his first Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2015 and worked in the energy sector for four years at companies like GE and Siemens. Amin's research interests in the domain of Computer Science include Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Security. Amin is fluent in English and Persian (Farsi).
Currently working as a Teaching Assistant for the School of Technology and Computing while pursuing a Master's degree in computer Science at City University if Seattle. She graduated with Bachelor's degree in computer science and worked in Cognizant Technology solutions for 1.5 years. Amrutha is passionate about learning new technologies. ​
Kim is currently working as a Teaching Assistant for the Technology Institute while pursuing her Master's degree in Computer Science at City University of Seattle. After challenging herself in different fields, Kim found her passion in Technology, especially in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
