Smart & Secure Computing Applied Research Symposium - Summer 2020

Hosted by CityU’s Center for Information Assurance Education (CIAE) and School of Technology and Computing (STC), the Applied Research Symposium is open to faculty, professionals, and students from any discipline, university, or professional organization.  At the end of each quarter, any students who would like to share their projects including capstone courses will present their outcomes. This symposium will provide opportunities for students, researchers, and practitioners to discuss the influence and impact of the applied computing on the future of our planet and our society

A Blockchain-Based Electronic Voting System

The capstone project is an electronic voting system based on blockchain, realizing the security requirements of fairness and anonymity in democratic elections. In this paper, we solved the question, “How to design a blockchain-based voting system?” Blockchain technology has the characteristics of a decentralized network, non-tamper with data, and open and transparent information. It can replace the traditional trusted third party and provide the uncentralized trusted service. In the voting system, We need to build a smart contract to Define our process. On the platform choice, choose to create a modular, extensible blockchain development framework: ethereum. Simultaneously, the project also wants to use a hash function, asymmetric encryption algorithm, data certificate, and so on to ensure the system’s security in the technical selection. This project is based on the Remix IDE and Solidity, combining ethereum to provide useful electronic voting ideas.

A Case Study of an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

Autonomous driving has become the mainstream development trend of the future automobile market. Almost all automakers are developing related autonomous driving systems. This case study is a detailed study of advanced driver assistance systems. ADAS is a relatively mature system and a stage of autonomous driving. It can be applied to various driving environments. My research is to compare two different ADAS, test their technical details, compare their advantages and disadvantages, and study the future development trend of autonomous driving.

A TA-like Chatbot Application
